Mido went on to acknowledge the achievements of the South African who won five trophies, including the CAF Champions League double, in two years.

Mosimane achieved great things with Al Ahly, he won two Champions League titles with the team,” Mido said.

“Despite his successful stint with Al Ahly, Pitso lost the locker room due to his aggressive comments against some players. I’d like to thank Pitso for his time with Al Ahly, he was a very good addition to the Egyptian Premier League.

Mosimane resigned from Al Ahly on Monday weeks after the 2-0 loss to Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League final.
