Malawi Malawian shooter Joyce Mvula signs for New Zealand’s Pulse

Malawian international shooter Joyce Mvula has signed for Te Wānanga o Raukawa Pulse netball team in the New Zealand Premier League.

The 28-year-old Mvula has signed for Pulse from Manchester Thunder in the United Kingdom Superleague.

The Lilongwe-born woman left Thunder on a high after leading them to their first- ever league title while finishing the season unbeaten.

She had been playing for Thunder since 2017 when she signed from Blue Eagles Sisters in Malawi.

The 1.85m Mvula has featured for Malawi at World Cup and Commonwealth Games tournaments.

Mvula has signed for Pulse alongside midcourter, Fa’amu, 26, who has joined from the Mystics.

Pulse coach Yvette McCausland-Durie has said she was excited to welcome the two additions to her squad.

Joyce and Fa’amu are experienced and well-credentialled performers who will add variety and options for us. They are exciting additions and we look forward to what they can bring,” she told the club’s website.
