Nigeria AWCON 2022:Payne, Others Arrival Swells Super Falcons Camp Swells To 21

Ahead of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the Super Falcons Abuja camp has welcomed four new players: Amanda Uju Mbadim, Toni Payne, Yewande Balogun, and Michelle Alozie.

On Saturday morning, the Super Falcons’ verified Twitter account confirmed their arrival.

The most recent development brings the total number of players already in camp to 21.

Francisca Ordega, Ashleigh Plumptre, Desire Oparanozie, and Uchenna Kanu, among others, are still anticipated.

With South Africa, Burundi, and Botswana, the Falcons are in Group C.

The Super Falcons first game will be against South Africa on July 4th in Rabat.

Morocco will host the 14th WAFCON, which will take place from July 2 to July 23, 2022.

The competition also serves as the African qualifying round for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.

Two further teams will advance to the inter-confederation play-offs, and four teams will qualify for the 2023 World Cup.

The Falcons, who last won a championship in 2018, would be aiming for a tenth one heading into this year’s WAFCON.
