Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira says Senegal and Liverpool forward Sadio Mane should be considered as a serious candidate for Ballon d’Or 2022.
Many see Karim Benzema as the potential winner of this year’s ballon d’or as the 33-year old had a wonderful season both individually and collectively with Real Madrid.
The Frenchman ended LaLiga as the top scorer as well as the UEFA Champions League with both trophies being won by Real Madrid.

So far, he is considered as the player who deserves the highly coveted prize than any other one.
But for Vieira, we should not put aside Sadio Mane who won the AFCON and qualified Senegal to the World Cup in Qatar later this year.
“Sadio Mane is part of the new generation of attackers who know how to do everything,” he told Wiw Sport.
“He scores goals, he knows how to defend, he knows how to run in depth. He is a hard worker in the field. He is one of the modern attackers. For me, he should be considered for the Ballon d’Or.
“He is one of those great players who can win it. I saw him every weekend in the Premier League and for me he is one of the great European strikers.”
