Africa Soccer Zambia’s Copper Queens step up preps, relocate to Marrakech in Morocco

Zambia senior women’s football team squad has relocated from Rabat to Marrakech for the final preparations of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) finals.

Football Association of Zambia website says the Copper Queens left Morocco’s capital on Monday and arrived in the country’s fourth largest city three hours later.

Zambia made use of Rabat stay to play a friendly with the Atlas Lionesses in a game which ended 1-1 over the weekend.

The Copper Queens expect to play another warm up in Marrakech before moving to Casablanca for Group B AWCON matches.

The Copper Queens open their WAFCON dance with Cameroon at the Mohammed V stadium on July 3 then Tunisia on July 6.

Zambia will wrap up their Group B engagements with a match against Togo on 9 July.

Top four teams from the tournament will seal World Cup qualification for the 2023 edition.
