South African senior women’s national team squad has settled in Morocco ahead of the kick-off of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis said this after her charges’ arrival in Morocco ahead of the tournmanent scheduled from next week.

We were welcomed warmly when we arrived at the airport. We are coping very well and there has been so much enthusiasm and drive at our training session,’’ Ellis told Safa website.

The closer we get to our opening game the more we get into more detail. We show the players footage and try to break it down.

We are still working on a lot of things and we have the footage for the players to see who they are up against and work on different areas on the field.”

Banyana Banyana arrived on Wednesday, 23 June 2022 ahead of the upcoming tournament.

South Africa open their WAFCON dance  against arch rivals, Super Falcons of Nigeria on Monday, 4 July 2022 at the Moulay Hassan FUS.

The team had, since arrival in Morocco, its second training session on Friday.
