Atlas Lionesses of Morocco captain Ghizalne Chebbake became the first player to score a goal in the 14th edition of the TotalEnergies Africa Women Cup of Nations.
After the pop and pageantry that heralded the opening ceremony and the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, Morocco and Burkina Faso got into the main business.

The Atlas Lionesses took charge of the game and were in total control but failed to find the net in the early minutes with Burkina Faso goalkeeper making some saves to deny the hosts.
However, in the 29th minute, captain Chebbak broke the deadlock as she scored from a direct free-kick helped by a howler from Burkina Faso goalkeeper, Mariam Ouattara.
