Wounded Super Falcons of Nigeria will be aiming to devour debutants, Botswana in the second Group C game of the WAFCON 2022.

The reigning champions who are one of the favorite teams to win the 14th edition of the WAFCON lost 2-1to Banyana Banyana of South Africa in the opening game.

Not only did the South Africa ladies defeat them but sent their top striker, Asisat Oshoala out of the tournament with an injury.

Oshoala who picked an injury and was substituted in the game against South Africa will be on her way to Spain while her national teammate will be hoping to get their first win.

Thursday’s match will be the first time Nigeria and Botswana will face each other since the inception of the competition.

The stake is high and the Super Falcons face a daunting task against a youthful Botswana side that thrashed Burundi 4-2.

Anything short of victory for the Super Falcons will be tantamount to their title defense quest.

Also in the other Group C game, South Africa’s focus will be to secure the group’s first ticket to the knockout stage when they take on Burundi.
