Women's AFCON WAFCON 2022: Botswana Coach Challenges Super Falcons Ahead Of Clash Against Nigeria

The Mares of Botswana are on top of Group C after an interesting 4-2 victory against Burundi in their first game of the 2022 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON.

Botswana Ladies are looking to maintain their winning ways though they will face a wounded Super Falcons of Nigeria outfit that is desperate to get some points onto their column on the table standings.

The Super Falcons kicked off their title defense in an abysmal manner, losing their opening fixture 2-1 against the Banyana Banyana South Africa.

Ahead of their second game against the reigning African champions, the Botswana coach Gaoletlhoo Nkutlwisang believes her team has what it takes to beat the Super Falcons.

We fancy a good challenge.” Nkutlwisang told Cafonline.

One thing for me as a coach, I want to play against the big coaches. And for the team, we want to face the best.

“That motivates us so we will go out there and show who we are as Botswana.”

We are going to focus on ourselves and get ready to face whichever players Nigeria sends onto the pitch.” Nkutlwisang Addaed.

The Super Falcons were poor in their first game. And losing their star striker Asisat Oshoala for the remaining of the competition will be a complicated matter.
