Coach Pitso Mosimane has responded to an apology from an Al Ahly fan Ahmed Eissa who was critical of the South African during his two-year tenure with the Egyptian power house.

Eissa had reached out to Mosimane via twitter on June 30 2022 to apologise for having been so critical of the coach, saying he now appreciates Al Ahly challenges were bigger.

I’m sorry Pitso Mosimane for criticizing you at times on the way you play, but you were hiding the team’s flaws in an excellent way and this became clear after you left I’m sorry Coach Musimani again,” he tweeted on @AhmedEissa32

In response, Mosimane, who quit amid intense criticims from some Al Ahly legends, on July 4 2022 said he left on his own with fond memories.

“@AhmedEissa my brother, please do not regret my http://departure.Al Ahly did not fire me or push me to go. I have big respect for President Khatib and the entire board including all the supporters of Al Ahly. I will always cherish all our trophy celebrations,” Mosimane tweeted on @TheRealPitso

“I have memories & archived (banners,chants of me at the stadiums). Unfortunately I decided to come home,I needed this rest with my family. You now have an experienced European Coach, everybody should support and I believe he will leave the jersey at a higher place than he got it.”

Al Ahly replaced Mosimane with Portuguese mentor Ricardo Soares who has so far won one game and drawn the other.
