After playing three previous times for Galatasaray on loans, this would be Onyekuru’s fourth stint in Turkey.

After graduating from the Aspire Academy in 2015 and joining their partner club, K.A.S. Eupen, Onyekuru started his football career there in 2010.

On September 5, 2015, he made his Eupen debut in a 2-2 draw with K.F.C. Dessel Sport in the Belgian Second Division.

Onyekuru helped the team get promoted to the Belgian First Division A in his rookie season, and made his professional debut in a 3–0 loss on 30 July 2016 against S.V. Zulte Waregem.

After a productive season in the Belgian first division, Onyekuru finished as one of the league’s top scorers, drawing interest from several more significant European teams.

With 22 goals, he tied for the league lead at the end of the 2016–17 campaign, although Ukasz Teodorczyk received the championship since he had more away goals than Onyekuru.

Onyekuru was acquired by Everton for £7 million on June 30, 2017, and was promptly loaned out to Anderlecht. At Anderlecht, he received the number 9 jersey for the upcoming season.
