The Banyana Banyana of South Africa ended the group stages of the WAFCON 2022 (Women’s Africa Cup of Nations) like they started as Nthabiseng Majiya inspired them to a 1-0 win over Botswana tonight at the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah.

Desiree Ellis’ girls had a slow start to the game with the solution coming from the bench.

Nthabiseng Majiya who subbed on Thembi Kgathlana in the 71st minute appeared to be the hero as she scored the winner nine minutes later.

That was all South Africa needed to beat Botswana to maker a 3/3 in the group stages before the quarter-finals.
