Zambia senior women’s football team coach Bruce Mwape has said his side is not fazed by the challenge of meeting Senegal in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) quarterfinals on Wednesday.
He said this ahead of the last-eight meeting against the Lionesses of Teranga.
“The game against Senegal, we will not take it lightly because they are also a good side. We will sit down and strategise, otherwise our girls are ready to beat any side,” he said.
The Copper Queens coach said his ultimate target is to secure qualification at the next World Cup.
Mwape said to realise the World Cup ambition they need to reach at least the semifinal of the continental showpiece.
Zambia have impressed at the tournament in Morocco where they held Cameroon 0-0, beat Tunisia 1-0 and Togo 4-1 to march to the last eight.
