Greek Cypriot side Arms Limassol FC midfielder, Mihlali Mayambela, said that he has amassed enough experience to play for the South African national team.

The young brother to Mark Mayambela, a popular figure in South African football, has been playing in Europe since 2016.

Having played in Sweden, Portugal, Israel and Cyprus, the 25-year-old South African star mentioned that he is waiting for his team call-up.

“It’s a very tricky situation. With all due respect, I have enough talent to play for Bafana. I know how to play football.” Mayambela told Sowetan Live.

“Anyway, I am here waiting for that call-up. Let’s see what the future holds.

“However, it is not something that’s bothering me. As much as I would love to represent my country, I am not obsessed about it. There’s more to life than playing for Bafana. But in my humble opinion I think I deserve to be there.” He added.

Coach Hugo Broos and Bafana Bafana who aimed to go all the way to keep their crown, exit COSAFA Cup after losing the quarter-final against Mozambique.

The game that took place at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Wednesday ended in goalless draw. However, Mozambique came winners during penalty shootout with 5-4.
