Manchester United Pre-Season: Ten Hag Gives Update On Maguire’s Availability

Before Friday’s match against Melbourne Victory, Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag updated the media on Harry Maguire on Thursday.

United’s second test of Tour 2022 will come against the A-League team after their outstanding 4-0 triumph over Liverpool on Tuesday in Bangkok.

Due to an injury, captain and center-back Harry Maguire missed that match.

Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, and Alex Telles all saw action in that position.

After arriving in Melbourne on Wednesday, Maguire practiced with the rest of the team at AAMI Park, and Ten Hag stated he is likely to return, possibly for 45 minutes.

“He is tomorrow available,” said Erik. “We will see [how long for].

“I think he can play half a game.”

The Victory match could be a good chance for the unused substitutes from the win over Jurgen Klopp’s team to play, with young players like Ethan Laird, Hannibal, and Alejandro Garnacho doubtless itching to prove themselves on this trip.

United used 22 of the squad’s minutes in the victory over Jurgen Klopp’s team.

We are full capacity, we have a strong squad so the fans will be happy,” Ten Hag added.

All the focus will be on former Manchester United winger Nani’s participation and the opposition that Manchester United will face.

Following the announcement of his transfer to Victory on Friday, the 35-year-old has already begun training with his new teammates.
