The 27-year-old winger announced in June his intention to leave the club. Bencharki did not want to extend his contract and revealed his desire to take the next step in his career in another country.

We reached an agreement with Bencharki as this week is the last appearance for the Moroccan player. He may play the next game but he will leave in the coming days.” Zamalek’s football director Amir Mortada told a television programme early on Friday.

Thanks Zamalek’s management, players, coaching staff and medical staff for the time that I spent with you.” Bencharki wrote on his Facebook page early on Friday.

Many thanks for Zamalek fans but the time has come to an end. I cannot forget your support in the times of prosperity and intensity.” The Moroccan player added.

Bencharki, who joined the Whites in 2019 from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal, played 107 games for Zamalek, scoring 40 goals and providing 27 assists.

It was three years full of titles and happiness as I did not feel that I am a foreigner but I was one of the club’s sons.” Bencharki said.

Goodbye to all of my Zamalek family members. And we will meet again in my second home.” The Moroccan star concluded.

The talented Moroccan winger played an instrumental role in Zamalek’s 2-1 win over rivals Ahly in the Egypt Cup final on Thursday, helping the Whites to win their 28th title and their fourth domestic double after 1959/60, 1987/88 and 2014/15.

His performance helped Zamalek in 2020/21 triumphant Egyptian Premier League campaign, which was the team’s first league title since 2015. Bencharki scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 30 games during the campaign. He also won the 2020 CAF Super Cup and 2019 Egypt Cup with the Whites.
