African players abroad Manchester United Reached Full Agreement To Let Eric Bailly Go

Manchester United have agreed to send Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly on loan to Ligue 1 side Olympique Marseille. It’s worth noting that the French club do have the option to buy the Ivory Coast international permanently.

Athe Same time, the Reds have agreed to terms to move the Brazilian midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid in a deal worth up to £70 million.

Bailly would be hoping to get more gametime than he has managed at Manchester United. Despite signing a contract extension last year, he has not played much since.

There can be no doubting Bailly’s ability and talent. He showed all that during a debut season where he was absolutely excellent.

However, since then, injuries have 100% plagued his career. The ex-Villareal man has spent so long out on the treatment table, he hasn’t been able to start games regularly. That led to United acquiring the likes of Harry Maguire, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof. All leapfrogged Bailly in the pecking order and he never really recovered from that.

There’s no doubt that this move will do him the world of good, though it’s solely reliant on Bailly staying fit. If he manages to remain out of the treatment room for the full season, there’s every chance Lyon will buy him outright.
