Reports emerged earlier on Tuesday that Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has departed from the Egyptian Premier League side Al Ahly. But the Egyptian club has responded confirming that the Souyh African playmaker is not going anywhere.

SuperSport revealed that Tau has departed from Al Ahly. However, moments ago, sources from the club denied these claims made around his departure.

“We spoke to club officials and they confirmed that it was incorrect information.” A source from Al Ahly confirmed on iDiskiTimes.

Pitso Mosimane’s former side claim that Tau is still a strong part of the club.

“Everything that has been reported during the past hours is not true. And the player is on the strength of the team so far.” A relevant source added.

As things stand, according to the club, Tau is still a part of their squad. However, they are open to accepting offers for him, should they be strong enough.

“If an [official] offer comes, we will discuss with the club’s management and the football company to resolve the situation. But so far, all are inquiries from companies, marketing and agents’ words only.” The source added.
