Rumours emerged early this week claiming departure of Bafana Bafana forward Percy Tau From Egyptian Premier League Giants Al Ahly.

While the departure has been not confirmed as the Reds Devils denied these claims stating that Tau is still an Al Ahly player, Pirates have joined the race with an official request for the Lion of Judah.

According to KickOff, the Buccaneers have just placed an official request to loan Tau with an option to sign him permanently.

“The South African team Orlando Pirates has requested the services of Percy Tau from Al Ahly on loan, with a clause in place at the end of the season that allows the club to sign him permanently if he performs well.” Fathallah Zidane reported on ONTime Sports.

Whatever the case, Al Ahly is open to releasing Tau, should a strong offer emerge. This is something the Pirates are going all out to achieve after placing an official bid before Chiefs.

“Al-Ahly are open to the departure of Percy Tau. But there’s no thought to terminate the contract with the player. Especially since the deal cost the club a lot of money to sign him from Brighton.” He added.

The race for Tau’s signature is red-hot with Amakhosi fans urging Arthur Zwane and Chiefs to sign Tau while he has also been linked with the likes of Anderlecht and Royal Antwerp.
