Chelsea Chelsea Loan Hudson-Odoi To Bayer Leverkusen

Callum Hudson-Odoi will play for Bayer Leverkusen on loan for the remainder of the 2022–23 campaign in Germany.

The Cobham graduate joins the Bundesliga for the remainder of the season after serving as an alternate in our previous three Premier League games.

Callum might be recalled by the Blues in January.

The winger has played for Chelsea since the Under-8 level, and in January 2018 he made his senior debut off the bench during a victory over Newcastle United in the FA Cup’s fourth round.

He has now made 126 appearances for the Blues across all leagues, scoring 16 goals.

Since the 2018–19 season, when he scored four goals in nine appearances during our successful Europa League campaign, Hudson-Odoi has been a regular member of our senior team.

However, he missed five months of action due to a serious Achilles injury.

Most of his opportunities in the club after his return came in cup competitions, but under Thomas Tuchel, the 21-year-old played more frequently and frequently in a new position at wing-back.

His most recent appearance for the Blues was in the FA Cup victory at Luton Town at the beginning of March.

However, injury issues slowed his development shortly after assisting the first goal in the FIFA Club World Cup final victory over Palmeiras last season.

Having been placed in Group B of the Champions League alongside Atletico Madrid, Bruges, and Porto, Leverkusen, who finished third in the Bundesliga last season, will now provide Hudson-Odoi the opportunity to play regular top-flight and European games.
