Egypt’s new coach Rui Vitoria has announced his first squad including 24 local players with 08 new faces for training camp to take place in September.

The preliminary list published on Wednesday does not include any Zamalek players as the Whites will be facing Saudi side Al-Hilal in the Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup on 9 September before meeting Elect-Sport FC of Chad in the preliminary round of the Champions League on 10 and 17 September.
The list also saw the first international call-up for eight players, including Ahly defender Karim Fouad, Ittihad winger Ahmed Adel Messi, Ittihad midfilder Marwan Attia, Ismaily winger Ahmed Madbouly, Pharco midfilder Mahmoud Hamada, Pyramids winger Eslam Eissa, Ceramica Cleopatra striker Shady Huessin, and NBE Club striker Nasser Mansi.
According to the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), 52-year-old Vitoria will announce the foreign-based players on 4 September before announcing the final list on 17 September after seeing Zamalek ending their continental commitment.
Vitoria has reportedly asked the EFA to play two friendly games during his first preparatory camp amid reports that Niger and Liberia will be the Pharaohs’ opponents in both tests.
The EFA have appointed Vitoria in July on four-year contract to replace Ehab Galal who was shown the door after just three matches in charge.
