Egypt Mosimane Pays Tribute To Al Ahly Star Set To Retire From Football

Al Ahly star Walid Solimane called time on his playing career after his side’s 4-0 Egyptian Premier League game against Ceramica Cleopatra to end season. And the club’s former coach Pitso Mosimane expressed heartfelt words to the 37-year-old winger.

The ex-Mamelodi Sundowns coach spoke of the respect he has for Soliman, while wishing him well on his future plans. It’s been reported that Al Ahly legend will be offered a position within the club.

Legend, I have never started you on any game. And yet you scored so many games for me.” Mosimane tweeted.

That’s the respect you gave me and the team. You remained the same man of honour even during tough times.

“Good luck in your future endeavours. Al Ahly has a future in you.

“I remember how sad you were when injuries made you miss last year’s FIFA World Cup. But I was happy that you played in this year’s World Cup. And you played all those games like a 19-year-old player.”

Mosimane continued mentioning also that Solimnae played the game with ‘integrity and respect’ for the club badge.

Thanks @Walid11Soliman, We really gave each other respect and I am happy that we had a very genuine relationship. Even when I played you for 5 minutes in a game. You played with integrity and respect for the Al Ahly badge.”
