At Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United team ended Arsenal’s perfect start to the season by defeating them.

Marcus Rashford scored twice and £82 million newcomer Antony scored on his debut.

Ten minutes before halftime, the Brazilian swept a shot into the far corner of the goal to start the gripping clash.

After Bukayo Saka had equalized on the hour, Rashford took credit for the assist on that as well. Then, the English striker benefited from two skillful United counterattacks.

For the first, Bruno Fernandes split the Arsenal defense, and for the second, he sent Christian Eriksen clear, who then gave Rashford a tap-in.

Rashford’s first double in the Premier League since December 2020 helped the team move up to fifth place.

Arsenal is still on top. Although the Gunners had a goal by Gabriel Martinelli disallowed by VAR in the first half, manager Mikel Arteta will be concerned given how easy his team was opened up after a strong start to the season.
