Plateau United, Nigeria’s representation in the CAF Champions League, got off to a strong start by earning a crucial away tie in Gabon.

Prior to the vital match, the team led by Fidelis Ilechukwu left the nation’s shores in the early hours of yesterday.

They faced off against Gabonese champions Stade Manji in a fiercely contested match at Port Gentil, the nation’s capital.

Mohammed Zuikifilu scored Nigeria’s second goal toward the conclusion of the first half, although this gave the host team a chance to tie the score once more despite Nigeria’s dominance.
