athletics Amusan, Brume Soars In Latest World Athletics Women Chart

Nigeria’s newest track stars In the World Athletics Women Chart, Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume have made enormous strides.

Tobi Amusan, who was rated 43rd in September 2021, has risen 38 places to be ranked 5th in the world, while her countrywoman and friend Ese Brume has risen 32 places, from 93rd to 61st in the same time frame.

In all the international contests they took part in, Amusan and Brume both had outstanding performances.

With a time of 12.12 seconds, Amusan broke the previous record for the 100-meter hurdles, won the world championship at the world athletics championships in Eugene, Oregon, and successfully defended her Commonwealth Games crown in Birmingham.

She earned a gold medal for Nigeria earlier this year at the Mauritius African Senior Athletics Championships.

At the World Athletics Championships, Ese Brume took home a silver medal in the long jump for Nigeria, and she also won gold at the Commonwealth Games.

At the Presidential Reception held on Thursday at the State House, Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, the Federal Government honored both athletes for their outstanding accomplishments for Nigeria.
