Nigeria Awoniyi Score As Nottingham Forest Bows To Fulham At Home

Taiwo Awoniyi was on target for Nottingham Forest who failed to hold on to their lewd as they lost 3-2 to Fulham.

At the City Ground, Fulham overcame a deficit to defeat Nottingham Forest with three goals in the span of six minutes.

This matchup featured two clubs that competed in the Championship last season, and it had the same level of physicality that you’d find in a match in English football’s second division.

The City Ground witnessed a fascinating spectacle as both teams played with vigor and ferocity.

Taiwo Awoniyi’s goal from a corner gave the hosts the lead early on, but a miraculous Fulham comeback in the second half left them in disbelief.

After 54 minutes, Tosin Adarabioyo scored an equalizer with a header, and Joao Palhinha then made it 2-1 with an incredible goal.

Harrison Reed swung in a third before Forest could gather their breath.

As the second half went on, Fulham appeared to have control of the game, but a fantastic flip from Forest substitute Jesse Lingard liberated Brennan Johnson, who then put up Lewis O’Brien.

Steve Cooper’s team regained the initiative, but there wasn’t enough time for a second goal as Fulham fought on for their third victory of the year.

After their 2-0 advantage over Bournemouth ended in the Cherries’ 3-2 victory two weeks ago, it is the second Premier League game in a row that Forest has let a lead slip away.

Although they had opportunities in both halves, the hosts also put a lot of pressure on Fulham, who finished 10 points ahead of Forest in the Championship last season.

Forest’s Awoniyi and Morgan Gibbs-White both came close, while Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic, Kenny Tete, and Andreas Pereira tested Forest goalkeeper Dean Henderson into saves.

Final score: Fulham 6, Forest 0. Forest were once more humbled by the harsh realities of life back in the top division.

Before the game began, both sides held a moment of silence. On the 70th minute, fans sung the national anthem and cheered in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
