Chelsea Potter Thrilled With Chelsea Performance Against Wolves

Graham Potter, the manager of Chelsea, was thrilled with his team’s outstanding display against Wolves.

On the cusp of halftime, Kai Havertz scored the game’s first goal, but the Blues had plenty of opportunities to put the game out of reach earlier.

After Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic exchanged passes to send the ball sailing past Jose Sa in the goal, the score was doubled.

Late in the game, Broja hammered the ball with his left foot into the bottom corner.

However, in response to the win, Potter said he was happy with the players’ effort and hoped they could keep up their current pace.

He later said: “It’s exciting. It’s been a really strong week. It’s not easy, going Wednesday and Saturday.

“Credit to the players. It’s a strong performance, especially in the first half.

“We had to hang on a bit in the second half but overall we deserved to win.

“I pick the right team to [try to] win. The schedule is tight so there’s not a load of recovery time.

“We have to try to select the best team to give us the chance to perform well.”

On the difference to being at Brighton, he continnued:

“More media, more interest in the club.

“The games are different.

“We’ve had two Champions League games.

” The first was surreal – you don’t really know the players and you’re preparing them for a Champions League game.

It’s still football. There are still ambitious players who want to be in the team.

“So far I’m really enjoying it.

“Premier League players want to play every week.

“You can only pick 11 and you have a squad of 20 so there’s always disappointment.

“How you react to that as a group is really important.

“That’s my job. All you can do is communicate as honestly as you can.

“it’s my decision to make the team selection.

“The week we’ve just had has been fantastic. We’ve made some steps with the group with how we’re acting.

“The attitude of players has been really good.
