Chelsea UCL: Chelsea Through To Knockout Stage After Win Against Salzburg

Mateo Kovacic and Kai Havertz both scored two outstanding goals to snap Red Bull Salzburg’s 40-game home winning streak and advance Chelsea to the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Austria-born midfielder Kovacic scored an unassailable left-foot goal from 18 yards during a tense group match in Austria, but Junior Adamu responded after a superb assist from Maximilian Wober.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was denied four chances by Salzburg goalkeeper Philipp Kohn, and Jorginho’s header was wonderfully saved off the line by Adamu.
