Nigeria Peseiro Includes Two Newbies For Super Eagles Friendly Against Portugal

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has called up two news players, Bruno Onyemaechi and Bright Osayi-Samuel ahead of next week international friendly against Portugal.

The list of invited players was announced by the Nigeria Football Federation’s Communications Department today (Friday).

Bruno who plays for Boavista FC, Portugal can play as a Centre-back and Left-back.

The 23 years old defender has featured in 12 games for the Portuguese side in all competitions this season, accumulating 1000+ minutes of playing time.

Osayi-Samuel plays Fenerbahce in Turkey and was born in Okija Anambra, then moved with his family to Spain before emigrating to England when he was 10 years old.

He has played 20 games for Fenerbahce this season, he has played as a Right-back and Winger this season.

The only home-based player invited by Jose Peseiro for the Portugal friendly is Rivers United left -back, Ebube Duru who has featured in the NPFL champions continental games this season.

William Ekong, Francis Uzoho, Wilfred Ndidi, Calvin Bassey, Kevin Akpoguma, Joe Aribo, Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, and Victor Osimhen are a few of the well-known players.

Returning to the group is the foursome of Oghenekaro Etebo, Tyronne Ebuehi, Paul Onuachu, and Olisa Ndah.

The Eagles and Portugal will play an international friendly inside the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon. The game will begin at 6.45 p.m. Portugal time.

The Eagles and Portugal are playing each other for the first time at the senior level.

At this year’s World Cup in Qatar, Portugal is in Group H along with Ghana, Uruguay, and South Korea.
