After 20 minutes, the 30-year-old hobbled off during Bayern’s 6-1 Bundesliga victory over Werder Bremen on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old will undergo an X-ray to determine the extent of the damage, Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann stated.

L’Equipe, a French news outlet, later stated that the injury was severe enough to take the player out of the competition.

Senegal appears to be content to give up a spot in their lineup in the hopes that Sadio Mane, who came in second place to Karim Benzema in this year’s Ballon d’Or voting, will be able to make a World Cup appearance.

According to Fatma Samoura, the secretary general of FIFA, the nation will employ drastic measures to guarantee that Mane participates in the World Cup.

She acknowledged that they aren’t even sure if the unconventional method would work, but they are still hoping for “miracles.”

“We are going to use witch doctors,’ she told Europe 1. “I don’t know (if they’re effective) but in this instance, we’re going to use them anyway. We are hoping for miracles. He has to be there!”

The final game before the World Cup, against Schalke on Saturday, has been postponed due to Mane’s right fibula injury, according to Bayern, who also announced that he would undergo additional testing in the coming days.

Manuel Afonso, the team physician for Senegal, has traveled to Munich to determine the severity of Mane’s injuries.

Additionally, the president of Senegal, Macky Sall, tweeted on Wednesday: “Sadio, I wish you a swift recovery. Heart of a lion, Sadio! My heart is completely with you!
