Arsenal Arsenal Bounce Back To Beat West Ham In London Derby

Arsenal came from behind to see off West Ham United 3-1 at home on Monday and move seven points clear at the top of the Premier League.

With 40 points after 15 games, seven more than second-place Newcastle United, who have played 16 games, Arsenal has kept their perfect home record in the league this season.

With 14 games played, third-placed Manchester City is eight points behind them.

Following a foul by William Saliba on Jarrod Bowen in the 27th minute, Benrahma converted the penalty kick to give West Ham the lead. This sent Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale the wrong way.

After a VAR review, referee Michael Oliver reversed his decision to award the hosts a penalty kick for a handball against Aaron Creswell towards the conclusion of the first half, determining that the ball had really hit the defender in the face.

In the 53rd minute, Saka scored a close-range goal to tie the score, and six minutes later, Martinelli gave Arsenal the lead with a shot inside the near post.

The injured Gabriel Jesus was replaced by striker Nketiah, who added a third in the 69th minute as Arsenal continued to press for another goal.
