African players abroad Sebastien Haller is finally back to training with Borussia Dortmund

Ivory Coast striker Sebastien Haller announced his return to training with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday months after a testicular tumor was discovered in his body.

The 28-year old underwent two surgeries before with the first one coming in July last year.

Now, the former Ajax Amsterdam goal-getter is feeling better and got the green light from his club to join his teammates at training.

“Hello guys, I’m finally back,” Haller said in a video message on Dortmund’s social media channels.

“It wasn’t easy, but with your support was better and easier to do. So I’m just looking forward to seeing you in the stadium for some victories.”

Moments later, he wrote a touching message on his own Twitter handle wishing his fan a happy new year. “Happy New Year everyone”, he wrote.

“And it starts very well for me because it is synonymous with returning to the field! 2022 was not the easiest year but it prepared me to take up all the new challenges that 2023 will offer me. Looking forward to seeing you again.”

In addition, Sebastien Haller will undertake strength and conditioning work, as well as some light ball drills with the aim to be fit for this second part of the season.
