The 2023 Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL is set to begin as scheduled thanks to Bendel Insurance arrives Uyo ahead of their season opener against Akwa United.

The start of the new season has been delayed since the 2021–2022 season finished in June as a result of several factors.

The Interim Management Committee and club owners met with the Nigeria Football Federation and agreed that one game should be played while the other resumes a week later.

The Abridged format is set to take place this weekend.

Bendel Insurance, who had recently been promoted, arrived in Uyo on Friday night in preparation for their matchup with Akwa United, the reigning champions.

On Sunday, the game is scheduled to take place at Uyo’s Goodswill Akpabio Stadium.
