The 7th Edition of the National Youth Games (NYG), which had been planned to take place in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, from February 8–18, 2023, has been postponed.

The Federal Ministry of Sports and Youth Development’s Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar, explained that the postponement was necessary due to logistical and scheduling considerations, particularly in light of the General Elections’ scheduled start on February 25, 2023.

Ismaila promised that a new date for the Games will be announced after the elections, while mourning all the hardships the postponement may bring its stakeholders.
