CHAN CHAN 2022: Senegal Vs Uganda Preview, Starting Xi

When Senegal plays Uganda on Wednesday, they will be attempting to make it two victories in as many games of the African Nations Championship CHAN 2022.

Uganda, meanwhile, was wanted to get back on track after sharing the victory in their opening CHAN match the previous time around.

Senegal got off to the best possible start as they defeated the Elephants of Ivory Coast on Saturday night after a fierce battle.

Pape Thiaw’s team dominated for significant portions of the game, although Moussa Ndiaye’s goal wasn’t scored until the 77th minute.

As a result, after the first round of games, the Lions of Teranga are in first place in Group A, two points ahead of the closest rivals, Congo DR and Uganda.

In their upcoming assignment, they will face a squad that hasn’t won any of the previous four meetings between the two groups across all competitions.

Senegal is attempting to secure their position in the final rounds of this year’s African Nations Championship, 14 years after their last appearance in the knockout round.

In their group stage matchup on Saturday at Stade 19 Mai 1956, Uganda and the Leopards of the Congo DR fought to a scoreless draw.

Milutin Sredojevic’s team was unable to make the breakthrough that perhaps deserved to be made in a contest with few clear-cut opportunities.

With just one goal scored during that span, the Cranes have now lost all five of their most recent matches outside of 2023.

Uganda will know that anything short than a victory in their next match would all but mean the end of their adventure once more as they attempt to avoid an early CHAN exit for the sixth consecutive edition.
