African players abroad Not the player we need – Chelsea told to get rid of Aubameyang

Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is struggling in his debut season with Chelsea in such away that one of the club’s legends told the Blues to sell the Gabonese.

Auba joined the Stamford Bridge side back in October from Barcelona after the Spanish giants signed lethal Polish scorer Robert Lewandowski.

Aubameyang was then expected to replace the flop Romelu Lukaku who failed for the second time to prove what he is able to do at Chelsea.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund talisman had the bad luck to see the club sack Thomas Tuchel who asked for his signing just few days after his arrival in London.

His struggle started under Graham Potter who is no longer play him as Chelsea continue to sign players on the market.

Now, former Chelsea midfielder and 1998 France World Champion Frank Leboeuf is telling the Blues that it’s too late for Auba to prove what he is worth and that they should sell him.

“I am not sure Potter has the players that he wants. We all know that we need a striker,” Leboeuf wrote in a column for Chelsea News.

“I like Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, I played with his father and I love him, but I know that he’s not the guy we needed.

“They asked me at ESPN if I was OK with him and I said no, it is too late, he is not the Aubameyang we knew.

“We can talk about Marcus Thuram, but he’s not a striker, we need a striker. Romelu Lukaku didn’t work out, but Chelsea needs a striker, someone who is able to create and score goals because that is lacking right now.”
