Nigeria NFF Confirms No Nigerian Harmed In Turkey Earthquake

According to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), no Nigerian players in Turkey were harmed by the earthquake that rock Turkey on Monday.

While expressing sympathy to Turkey for the lives lost, NFF also expressed sadness over the situation.

Alh Ibrahim Gusau, the president of the NFF, made this announcement on Monday via the organization’s official Twitter account.

NFF wrote: “The Nigerian Football Federation is sad about the unfortunate earthquake in Kahramanmaras City in Turkey.

“NFF President Alh Ibrahim Gusau has reached out to Nigerian players based in Turkey, and they have all confirmed that they are fine.

“We pray the souls of the departed rest in peace as we commiserate with the people of Turkey at this time.”

According to officials, the calamity has claimed the lives of over 1,800 people and injured another 6,000.

Hours after the initial earthquake, a large aftershock with a magnitude of 7.5 struck southern Turkey.

According to reports, it was once more felt in both Iraqi Kurdistan and Syria.
