Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller said unforced errors led to his side’s 1-4 loss to Real Madrid in Club World Cup semi-final on Wednesday night in Rabat, Morocco.

The Red Devils dreamt of a first-ever Club World Cup final, but could not achieve their dream despite a good resistance showed against the European giants in the first half.

Tunisia midfielder pulled one back for the Egyptian giants from the penalty spot in the 65th minute, but Al Ahly conceded two other goals which sealed their loss.

“We played very well in the first half, but we didn’t take our chances,” Marcel Koller said after the game.

“The problem is that we also conceded the second goal very early after the break. We simply couldn’t recover after it.

“When we started going forward, we left huge defensive gaps, and Real Madrid were very quick on the counter and that’s why they scored two more in stoppage time.

“Losing always frustrates me, especially since there were a lot of unforced errors in the first half. I’ve been here at the club for only five months, and there is still work to be done.”
