AFCON AFCON U20: Flying Eagles Arrives Egypt Ahead of Tournament

After completing up their pre-tournament preparations for the U20 African Nations Cup, which is set to begin on Sunday, twenty Flying Eagles players and ten officials arrived Thursday at the Cairo International Airport at 5:30pm.

The Nigerian Embassy in Egypt’s representatives met the team upon their arrival in Cairo, and they immediately drove them to Jewel Sports City and Aqua Resorts, where the players and officials will be based.

The first practice for the seven-time African champions will begin at 6:30 am on Friday (Nigerian time).

Senegal will be the opponent for Nigeria’s opening match on Sunday before they take on the host nation, Egypt, in their second match on Tuesday.

Senegal, Egypt, and Mozambique make up group A.

The final group game between the 2015 champions and Mozambique will take place on February 25, 2023.

Africa will be represented by all four semifinalists in the FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia.
