Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal teammate Pepe revealed the reason behind the 38-year old move to Saudi Arabia where he penned a two-year contract with Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo ripped his contract with Manchester United just before the World Cup in Qatar as his relationship with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag became tense.

The five-time Ballon d’or winner went on to the World Cup in Qatar being the only free agent to play the global tournament.

But on December 31, he decided to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr after failing to secure a move to a Top 5 European club.

Upon his arrival, Cristiano Ronaldo said he won everything in Europe and that’s the reason he completed the move to Asia.

However, his counter and former Real Madrid Pepe revealed that CR7 chose Al-Nassr for inner peace as criticism became his diary in Europe.

“I knew about that and contacted him. He told me that he is fine and the most important thing for him is to feel this way and for his family to be satisfied”, Pepe said as per Sportskeeda.
