Ghana WATCH : Christian Atsu mortal remains arrives Ghana

Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu body has been brought to Ghana on Sunday evening after the 31-year was found dead under the rubbles of the Turkish earthquake.

The mortal remain of the former Ghana Black Stars winger arrived at Kotoka airport where many were gathered mourning his demise.

Atsu has 65 caps for Ghana and was part of the team which made it to 2015 AFCON final before bowing to Ivory Coast in final.

“We hoped against hope, every day that passed, we prayed and prayed. But alas, when he was found, he was no more”, Ghana’s Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia said at the arrival of the late Atsu, as per the BBC.

“It is a painful loss, a very painful one”, he added promising Christian Atsu will be given a “befitting” burial.
