Senegal forward Sadio Mane shared what Cristiano Ronaldo told him after he completed his move from Liverpool to Bayern Munich last summer.

After six years and all major trophies won including the Premier League and UEFA Champions league with Liverpool, Mane decided to embrace a new challenge outside England.

The 30-year old then moved to Bayern Munich who signed him on a three-year deal while he had one-year left on his contract with the Reds.

Many believe Sadio Mane has left Liverpool in order to get the flowers he deserves as he was in the shadow of Mohamed Salah at Anfield.

So far, the former Southampton left-winger has done well with the Bundesliga giants before an injury stopped him in November and prevented him from playing the World Cup in Qatar with Senegal.

After three months on the sidelines, Sadio Mane completed his comeback over the week-end and was given some minutes by Julian Nagelsmann as Bayern Munich defeated Union Berlin 3-0.

Speaking to German newspaper Bild on his return, Mane revealed what Ronaldo told him on the move to Bayern.

“I met Cristiano Ronaldo in Mallorca before this season after my move was completed,” he said.

“He congratulated me and told me, ‘A great club! This is a great step for you!’”
