The second semi finals of the 2023 AFCON U-20 Africa Cup of Nations semifinal will be played at the Cairo International Stadium on Monday and will feature the Nigerian Flying Eagles and the Gambia’s Young Scorpions.
The most successful youth squad in Africa will face off against a team from one of the smallest countries on the continent in a classic David and Goliath battle.
In addition to being the competition’s seven-time champions, the Flying Eagles have twice been to the FIFA U20 World Cup final.

The Gambian team, competing in its sixth U20 AFCON, will face them as the slight favorites.
The Flying Eagles have advanced to the U20 AFCON semifinals a record-extending 15 times.
With four victories thus far, the Young Scorpions have been among Egypt’s top teams.
Even though both sides have already earned spots in Indonesia for the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup, a victory would move either team one step closer to winning the coveted AFCON Cup.
