Nigeria Premier League NPFL: Rangers Signs Three New Player Ahead Of Second Stanza

Enugu Rangers of the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) have added three new players ahead of the second half of the condensed 2022–23 season.

According to Norbert Okolie, Enugu Rangers’ media officer, the players, Austin Osayande, Leonard Ugochukwu, and Chinecherem Ugwueze, who have already begun training with the Flying Antelopes, were brought in to improve the team before the final push for qualification to the NPFL play-off tournament in 2022/2023.

Osayande, an aggressive midfielder for Rangers, was acquired from Dakkada F.C., while Ugochukwu, a seasoned league player for Akwa United, joined the team.

According to Okolie, the young defensive midfielder Chinecherem joined Rangers from Giant Brillars F.C. of Enugu in the Nigerian National League (NNL).

We are excited to have the three players join our ranks to enable us reach our set goal for the season, said G.R.A., Enugu, Rangers Administrative Secretary Ferdinand Ugwuarua while introducing the players at the club’s offices.

“With the approval of the coaching crew, we went for the players and it is our hope and belief they are coming with the needed skills and determination to help us achieve what we set out initially to achieve at the start of the season. ”


Enugu Rangers have not performed well this season, gaining just nine points out of a possible 24 and scoring four goals while giving up six.

The players will compete in their first match for the team on March 15, 2023, when Rangers play NPFL champions Rivers United F.C. in a match that was originally scheduled for match day 8.
