AFCON-20 AFCON U20 Bronze Medalists, Flying Eagles Returns Home

Nigeria Flying Eagles team that won the bronze medal in the just finished CAF U20 African Nations Cup in Egypt have arrived in Lagos.

The squad took a Royal Air Maroc flight from Casablanca to Casablanca on Sunday evening and arrived in Lagos, Nigeria around 5:00 am on Monday.

The seven-time African champions left Egypt on Saturday after being received at the embassy’s Town Hall by Ambassador Nura Abba Rimi of Nigeria.

The team made the Starting XI Team of the Tournament, and two team players, Solomon Agbalaka and Njoku, earned bronze medals and fair play awards.

Included among the top 10 goals of the competition were three Flying Eagles scores.

While Senegal, the tournament’s winners, defeated Gambia 2-0, Nigeria thrashed Tunisia 4-0 to claim third place.

At the FIFA U20 World Cup in Indonesia in May of this year, Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia, and Gambia will fly the African flag.
