Premier League Mo Salah’s opinion on Darwin Nunez replacing Sadio Mane at Liverpool

Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah shared his honest opining on Darwin Nunez replacing Sadio Mane in the attack line for Liverpool.

The Senegal star shared the picth with Salah for five years at Anfield where they won all major trophies including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions league.

However, Mane decided to leave the Reds as he was thirsthy of new challenge and then joined Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich last summer.

To replace him, Liverpool brought in Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez to buold a new attack around Salah who extended his contract until June 2025.

Speaking on Mane’s departure, the Pharaoh admitted he will miss the 2022 CAF Footballer of The Year but is eager to play with Nunez.

“Sadio has left and I’m going to miss him. He had great seasons with the club, so I wish him all the best”, Salah told the FA media in summer 2022.

“I’m so excited and I want to play with Nunez. He had a good season and played well against us, home and away. I wish Darwin all the best too, and to score many goals for us.”

After early struggles, Nunez is now blossoming with Liverpool having scored 14 goals and 4 assist in 32 appearances.

The former Benfica goal-getter will be one of Liverpool’s major assets when they face Real Madrid on Wednesday for the reverse leg of their UEFA Champions league last 16 tie after the humbling 2-5 loss at home.
