Nigeria Akpoguma, Iheanacho, Others Arrive Super Eagles Camp

The Super Eagles camp in Abuja has come alive following the arrival of six players on Sunday night ahead of the AFCON qualifier against Guinea-Bissau.

The early birds to hit the camp are Kelvin Akpoguma, Joe Aribo, Kelechi Iheanacho, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi and Semi Ajayi.

Akpoguma was the first to arrive in Nigeria on Sunday ahead of Friday’s game in Abuja.

A tweet on the official Twitter handle of the Super Eagles said the camp officially opened on Monday.

The team is expected to have the first training session on Monday at 5:00pm at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

The doubleheader between the three-time African champion Super Eagles and Guinea Bissau is scheduled to begin at 5:00 pm on Friday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, and head coach Jose Peseiro has invited 23 players.

With six points from two games, Nigeria is in first place in group A.

Guinea Bissau is in second place with four points from the same number of games.

If Super Eagles defeat Guinea Bissau both at home and away, their AFCON ticket will be guaranteed.

With 1 and 0 points, respectively, Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe are ranked third and fourth in the log.
