Nigeria Osimhen Turns Focus To Guinea-Bissau After Helping Napoli To Win

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has turned his focus to the AFCON 2023 doubleheader qualifier against Guinea-Bissau after helping Napoli to victory.

After Osimhen opened the scoring in the early minutes, the Partenopei soon had control as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored from the penalty spot.

Just after the break, Osimhen scored another, and Tanguy Ndombele added another to put Napoli on course for the championship, eliminating any chance of a Torino comeback.

Napoli scored after just nine minutes when Osimhen met Piotr Zielinski’s corner and calmly headed the ball into the far corner of Vanja Milinkovic-Savic’s goal.

But, the home team did not go quietly, as Alex Meret stopped a hard Samuele Ricci shot before Nikola Vlasic tipped the rebound onto the post from close range.

Ten minutes before halftime, Napoli increased their lead when Kvaratskhelia converted a penalty after being brought down by Karol Linetty.

With Luciano Spalletti’s guests threatening to run riot before halftime, Osimhen blasted a drilled effort from outside the box that required a diving stop from Milinkovic-Savic.

Napoli scored again after 51 minutes when Kvaratskhelia’s deft flick connected with Mathias Olivera, who lofted a delightful left-wing cross for Osimhen to score.

Osimhen took to his Twitter account to celebrate the victory.
