Nigeria Super Eagles Holds First Training Session As Camp Swell To 18

Thirteen Super Eagles players took part in their first training session of the year on Monday in Abuja, as the squad began preparations for Friday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers (2023AFCONQ) against Guinea-Bissau.

Under the supervision of head coach Jose Peseiro, twelve players participated fully in the training session held on Monday evening at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Just Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City practiced separately from the rest of the group.

By the evening, the number of players in camp had grown to fifteen (15) out of the invited 23 players, as of 9 p.m. local time.

After the training session, team captain Ahmed Musa and his fellow Turkey-based star Bright Osayi-Samuel came.

The remaining players, notably Napoli attacker Victor Osimhen and FC Porto left back Zaidu Sanusi, who both played for their clubs on Sunday evening, are due to arrive on Tuesday morning.

The Super Eagles are slated to conduct two training sessions in Abuja on Tuesday as they prepare for the game on Friday evening.

As at this morning, according to update from Super Eagles verified Twitter account, 18 players rae now in camp.
