AFCON AFCON 2023 Qualifier: Daka Brace Takes Zambia To Top Of Group H

Patson Daka scored a brace as Zambia inflicted a second defeat on Lesotho in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with a 2-0 win to go top in Group H.

The Chipolopolo defeated Lesotho 3-1 in the first leg of Matchday 3 of the AFCON 2023 qualifier in what was Avram Grant’s first game in charge of the team at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

On Sunday Zambia continued their dominance as two goals in each half by Leicester City forward, Patson Daka put them in a better position to book the ticket in Group H.

Daka opened scoring in the 14th minute in a game that was dominated by the visitors at the Dobsonville Stadium.

In the 69th minute, Daka doubled the lead from a Sakala assist to make it 2-0.

He was substituted in the 90th minute as Zambia now have nine points from four games topping the group with the host nation, Cote D’Ivoire in second place with a game at hand against Comoros Island.
